I still remember the adrenaline rush after securing my first article for a client in the Miami Herald. I was hooked by the power of the media. Nearly two decades and thousands of press articles later, I’m still hooked on public relations and live for the moments when I get to celebrate wins with my clients.

An avid reader and writer, I was drawn to the power of a story early in life and was inspired by my own mother who built her business from the ground up. But it wasn’t until I put my advertising degree to use that I discovered the world of public relations. The media is a powerful tool and when used effectively it can create the type of reputation that turns businesses into household names.

Roughly a decade after Jerry Maguire was released, I wrote my own “memo.” While reading a magazine, I came across a profile of a CEO that outlined my ideal working environment and clients, plus non-profits / charities were a priority. Immediately I outlined in a harried fashion how I, too, wanted to do more with Public Relations than what that traditionally meant. For the next nine years, I was his Jerry Maguire’s (Tom Cruise) Dorothy Boyd (Renee Zellweger).

Fast-forward nearly a decade, and “Dorothy” had her own crisis of conscience.

Driven by the desire to make a bigger impact and put people at the heart of business, I found myself dissatisfied with agency culture that prioritizes high-dollar campaigns over exceptional service. I couldn’t accept looking at a list of phone calls only partially returned or driving home each day with a gnawing feeling that not enough was accomplished. I wanted to go above and beyond for clients instead of just meeting their expectations.

When I launched The PR Company in 2017, it was part of a desire to break the status quo of agency model that sees clients as numbers. I wanted to step out and be bold just like you.

I wanted to go deeper and bring my client’s stories to life. When hiring a PR firm you want someone who is just as passionate about your brand as you are. At The PR Company, we put all the pieces in place to help your brand grow and shine.
